As the food at Chambar continues to evolve and challenge the senses, so too should the room. By exhibiting the work of local artists, we hope to raise awareness and stimulate our guests with work that evokes thought and makes a statement.

GEORGE VERGETTE
George Vergette lives & works between Vancouver and New York. Having shown his work in various solo and group exhibitions across Canada, Vergette uses both medium and content to insert the viewer into each piece, giving a personal dimension to these deceptively minimal works.
Vergette’s paintings first seduce with a layer of resin, a glossy finish that is satiny smooth. Further beneath this perfect exterior hide imperfections: drips of paint, marks, lines, and scrawled text.

During the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games we will be featuring additional works by George Vergette.
