This is a variation on the drink the “grasshopper”. The drink reputedly originated at Tujague’s, a landmark bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana, and was invented by its owner, Philip Guichet.

The drink gained popularity during the 1950s and 1960s throughout the American South. Here we substitute with our own floral flavours like cardamom, almond and house dark bitter cacao. This is a playful, vegan friendly dessert cocktail.

This drink celebrates the Almond and it’s globe trotting. From the center of India, through Iran, Pakistan, Afganistan, Libya, Greece, Italy, Spain, Morocco, and over the oceans to California and Australia. The Almond has a history that follows our human colonization accross the world. We carried it with us from the hunter gathering times till today.
